FIG President Bruno Grandi requested that the FIG Women’s Technical Committee compile a list of the top Brevet judges in the World for the Xth Cycle 2001-2004. This is a very difficult assignment as you might imagine. There are many excellent judges throughout the world so this is really an evaluation to identify the “best” of the “best”.

The WTC Judging Analysis is used to evaluate the judges after each major FIG competition like the World Championships and Olympic Games. The judges may receive letters of reprimand or reward based on their performance during the competitions. Using this Analysis, Mrs. Jackie Fie, FIG Honorary Vice President submitted the top 7 names from the Xth Cycle. The evaluation was divided into two separate analysis, one for the A- panel judges and one for the B- panel judges, as each panel has distinctly different roles. Some judges are better A- panel judges and others are better B- panel judges and sometimes it is the luck of the draw into which panel you are drawn.

As a result of the evaluation the following judges are listed as the “best” of the “best” for both the A- and B- Panels for the Xth Cycle 2001-2004:

A- Panel:   B- Panel:

Naomi Valenzo – MEX   Olga Koroleva – BLR
Linda Chencinski – USA   Yumi Sawasato – BRA
Anne Bigham – AUS   Hana Liskarova – CZE
Marjeta Kovac – SLO
