USAG has clarified when mileage is paid to judges when they carpool. The
following information is from the 2010-11 Rules and Policies, page 76.
Please review Rules and Policies for additional information.
IV. TRAVEL
A. No mileage will be paid for the first 30 miles round-trip.
• Exception: In the case of a judges’ carpool, the primary carpool
driver and all judges driving to
meet the carpool do not deduct the 30 miles round-trip.
1. The standard IRS rate will be paid to the driver(s).
2. Riders’ fee are not paid.
3. Any judge living within a 15-mile radius of the meet site will not
be eligible for mileage
reimbursement, even if they carpool.
