2009 American Cup Judges
American Cup judges were given a whirlwind tour of Chicago by Region V RJD, Hilary Carlson. From left: Hilary, Akiko Kawai (JPN), Kathy Stoesz (CAN), Chelle Stack (USA), Vera Kiryashova (RUS), Cheryl Hamilton (USA), Olga Didilescu (ROM), and Inge Funk (GER) AMERICAN CUP HITS REGION V The 2009 American Cup was held February 21 at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, IL. The day before there was a friendship meet between USA and Japan. It was an honor to have them and a good chance to show off Region V. Many IL judges were able to be involved with everything from setting up equipment to being auxiliary judges to helping the TV people. We tried to get our coaches to do most of the heavy work, though. Judges helping were Mary Lou Ackman, Jenny Cacchione, Heather Forbes, Jessica Holtz, Carrie Kozak, Natalie Lalagos, Carrie Marquardt, Stacey Mooney, Sandy Oldham, Judy Redmond, Richard Sabel, Michelle Swanberg, Amy Tritt, and Deb Tritt. One of the most exciting things was that 5 of the 6 gymnasts competing for the USA are from Region V! Jodyn Wieber (MI) and Bridget Sloan (IN) competed in the Cup with Jordyn wining! At the Friendship meet we had Kamerin Moore (MI), Mackenzie Caquatto (IL), Bridgette Caquatto (IL), and Hallie Mossett (CA) with Kamerin winning! What fun and great gymnastics!!
